INSTITUTIONAL FUND DEVELOPMENT  +  GRANTS MANAGEMENT   COMMUNICATIONS

MY POV

Today's philanthropic leaders and grantmakers are seeking catalytic partners for social change – people and communities who are committed to creating enduring solutions for a more just, healthy, and resilient society.

A PATH TO SUCCESS

Successful fund development is seldom based solely on how well a proposal is written or the nobility of an organization’s mission. Effective solutions and the resources necessary to carry them out require a multi-faceted, thoughtful, strategic approach – one that is grounded in an organizational culture that values strong leadership, fiscal responsibility and sustainability, as well as programmatic innovation, accountability and a demonstrated commitment to equity. Absent any of the these, hiring me is not the answer.

Ultimately, my goal is to work collaboratively with my clients to articulate not only how they intend to improve their respective communities, but why they are well positioned to make and sustain meaningful progress.

A WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE

I possess more than 25 years of experience in institutional fund development and communications. Before becoming an independent consultant, I worked for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, Positive Resource Center, Project Inform, and as the director of development for Maitri Compassionate Care, a residential care facility for people with HIV/AIDS in San Francisco.

Since 1992, I have helped raise millions of dollars for several non-profit and mission-driven organizations.
